New Vice-Principal Hired at L.V. Rogers Secondary School

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) has announced that Mr. Simon Bruskowski has been hired as vice-principal of L.V. Rogers Secondary, effective August 1, 2026.

Mr. Bruskowski holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Education and has served as principal of Nelson Waldorf School. He also served as Mathematics department head and teacher at Margaretha-Rothe Secondary School in Hamburg, Germany for 11 years from 2010 to 2021, and has worked in SD8 for four years in the role of executive assistant.

“I warmly welcome Mr. Bruskowski into his new role as school leader in the district. In his role as executive assistant to the secretary-treasurer in SD8, Mr. Bruskowski brought his educational and leadership knowledge and his administrative skills to bear on numerous projects in the district. I am confident that L.V. Rogers students, families and staff will be well served by his experience, insights and inclusive approach to education and leadership,” said Superintendent Trish Smillie.

Mr. Bruskowski will serve with Principal Ian Cooper and will take over from Vice-Principal Roman Wyllie who is leaving LVR to become principal of Salmo Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year.
