Superintendent's Report - November 2024

It's my pleasure to share this month's happenings across our school communities. Throughout the early fall months, students have engaged in a wide variety of learning activities and events from marking Métis Awareness Month at W.E. Graham Community School by putting up a teepee and examining what learnings come from that process, to the incredible Halloween costumes and spirit at Rosemont Elementary that delighted staff, students and families on a day in the calendar that is very important to our primary and intermediate students and everyone who enjoys the drama of costumes.

You'll also read in this November edition about school spirit at Kootenay River Secondary, musical mentors at L.V. Rogers Secondary and students at South Nelson Elementary learning about the provincial and national electoral process through a mock election.

While the days are shorter and the nights arrive earlier, it's so wonderful to know that our school communities can shine with the light from so many bright young students experiencing new ideas and immense curiosity, a key ingredient for learning.

Stay warm, stay curious.

Warmly,

Trish
