About Salmo
Situated in Salmo, BC, and surrounded by nearby communities like Nelson, and Trail BC, Salmo Secondary enjoys a peaceful, rural setting with a population of 2000 residents. The city is within reach of major cities, approximately 8 hours from Vancouver and 7 hours from Calgary, and offers a safe, friendly environment where students feel supported.
International students live with local homestay families, allowing them to fully experience Canadian culture and integrate with the community. Students within 1.5 km can use the school bus, while those further away have the option to take a public bus.
Salmo offers numerous recreational activities that enrich students' lives outside of school. The nearby Kaslo Golf Course, Kaslo and Area Youth Center, and Kaslo Adventure Center provide ample opportunities for relaxation, socializing, and outdoor fun. Salmo is a located close to three ski hills. Salmo's Ski Hill is 5 minutes from the school. Popular White Water Ski Resort is 30 minutes from Salmo, and Red Mountain Resort is 40 minutes away by car.
