Enhancing Student Learning Report
School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) publishes its Enhancing Student Learning (ESL) Report annually at the end of the school year. The ESL is guided by the district's Strategic Plan 2024-2029. This plan guides all Board of Education decisions and the actions of staff in support of student success now and in the future.

Continuous Learning Reports
Throughout each school year, SD8 reports on results, actions and plans connected to each of the district's five strategic priorities described in the Strategic Plan 2024-2029, and ties those to educational outcomes and measures established by the Ministry of Education and Child Care. Continuous learning reports are part of the district's strategic plan monitoring cycle.
School Learning Plans
School Learning Plans align with the the district's strategic plan and guide educational actions throughout the school year. These plans tie back to the ESL as what happens in each school, classroom and learning space throughout the school year is at the heart of each child's learning journey. Data gathered and reported on in the ESL reflects the success of school learning plans, and our success in supporting each child to becoming an educated citizen.
